Outreach Provision

We are able to offer an Outreach facility to schools and homes for the elderly in the Cockermouth area, with packs of artefacts available for loan. We ask for a small donation to help with the group’s research activities. Please use the Contact Us page for enquiries.

These packs include:

Washday artefacts
Dolly, posser, washboard, block iron, flat iron, wooden clothes tongs

Domestic artefacts
(a) stone hot-water bottle, copper bed-warmer, early electric bakelite hot-water bottle
(b) butter pats, potato ricer, toasting fork, early electric copper kettle, plus other items used in food preparation

Personal items
Leather clogs, Victorian bloomers, badger-hair shaving brush, metal hair-wavers, metal curling tongs, box camera

Talks and Slide Shows

We are able to offer slide-shows/talks on Cockermouth’s past in return for a small donation. Please address enquiries via the Contact Us page.
